Clothes for Macs

They seek him here,
they seek him there,
his Mac is loud,
but never swears

Seth Godin posed a poser for Mac t’other day… ” When your entire culture is organized about being the other, the outsider, the insurgent, the one that’s better than the masses… (like Starbucks, btw), what do you do when you are the masses?

So what to do if other people less cool than you start copying the sort of computer you’ve got?… I’ll tell you what to do: You get a black one. you get a tartan one. You get a gold lamĂ© one with fake-diamond studs. When the flock gets into bling, you go all emo and dress yours up in a cardigan, shades and a Joey Ramone wig. When they copy that, you go for metalic glitter. You get lights and laser beams. You get paisley. You don’t get a PC.

Trust me - fashion is the easiest problem in the world for Apple to deal with. They just need to split the pack by providing a sphere within which people can compete/self-express. You pass the responsibility for cool onto those who do it best, and they’ll love you for it.

And speaking of which, check out PJ’s shoes in this:

Sparkley Stars and Stripe stilettos… FUCKING STAR!!!!

And while you’re at it check out the guitars her band are playing… the weapons of choice for cool-obsessed rebellion for at least the last 60 years. Buddy Holly used to play one of those ones on the left.

If Fender can do it then I don’t see Apple having a problem.

This is how much strats have changed in 60 years :

  1. Well, yes, the box can be changed, the fact that “everyone uses a Mac” can’t - mind it, the danger of MacBook users flooding the world is far far away.

    “You don’t get a PC.”
Of course you do. Macintosh was one of the first PC-s. Personal Computers.

If your comp is not a server, then it’s a PC. It’s simple.
    Cheers :)
