Hellfire & Angels

Apparently every year, Charlie’s family gets together and re-enacts famous events in military history dressed up in amazingly realistic mouse-costumes. They video these and enter them in this annual (yearly) competition… writing, shooting and editing an entire feature-length film in less than 48 hours. This year’s stirling effort is centred around the D-Day landings (a bit like Saving Private Ryan but with mice) and was shot on location in The Ardennes (which is miles away)… and actually features several of the people who saw action on the day 60 years ago, and there’s a massive explosion at the end, which is as close to perfect as it’s possible to get.

The special effects are stunning, especially considering the 48 hour time-constraint (a bit like 24, twice) and much as I hate to single any one performance as being outstanding, the performance by the dark brown one is absolutely first class.

So all in all, pretty good actually.

Anyway, there you go. We like Charlie.
